Hashwani
Hotels Limited (HHL) was incorporated in 1972 as a private limited
company and was later on converted into a public limited company in
1974. Presently the company had a paid up capital of PKR 60 million.
The
company started its hotel operation in 1978 with the opening of
Holiday Inn Islamabad under franchise agreement with Bass European
Netherlands. Holiday Inn Karachi was later on, opened in 1981. With
high standard of service, well furnished rooms and excellent
facilities, these two hotels enjoyed impeccable reputation in the
market.
In
October 1982 Marriott International Inc. showed interest in granting
franchise to Hashwani Hotels Limited for operating these hotels
under Marriott Brand. That was indeed an occasion of pride and
honour for Hashwani Hotels Limited as it was for the first time in
the history of Marriott Corporation that a franchise was given to
hotel without management agreement.
HHL
now owns and operates the Marriott Hotels in Karachi and Islamabad
under a franchise from Marriott Worldwide Corporation, USA. The
Hotels have an in-house reservation network and also linked with the
Marriott International Reservation system (MARSHA) for easy access
to any Marriott worldwide Hotel and travel agents worldwide. Both
the hotels are renowned for their ideal location, décor and
friendly atmosphere. The hotels have a tradition of continuous
product development, service improvement and upgrading of operating
standards, excelling the expectations of their guests.
HHL
is also setting up a world class hotel in Gwadar (a deep port city
in the province of Balochistan). The Hotel will have 110 rooms,
restaurant, banquet hall, health clubs and other allied facilities.
Land has already been acquired by the company and construction work
is going on in full swing. The hotel is expected to open in 2005.
Besides
hotels, HHL also owns and operates porcelain tableware plant under
the name of Cera-e-Noor. The plant was designed and commissioned
with the collaboration of French ceramics giant, Bernadaud Limoges,
and the technical/engineering expertise from other major players in
the French ceramics industry such as Ceric and Cerlim.
